Biological treatment
We offer biological wastewater treatment solutions tailored for residential, urban, and industrial applications.
Our systems
We build domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plants, both on-site and prefabricated in stainless steel, backed by more than 30 years of experience. Our engineering approach covers every stage, combining electromechanical hardware with sophisticated automation and monitoring systems.
We also provide plant performance and capacity assessments aimed at system upgrading, regulatory compliance, and energy consumption reduction, using advanced technological solutions and modern process technologies.

In specific cases, we can offer compact solutions based on our own prefabricated modular stainless steel systems, using MBBR, MBR, SBR, and UR-TOUC patented technology. These solutions ensure maximum treatment efficiency even in limited spaces and with reduced energy consumption.
All prefabricated biological systems are designed to deliver high treatment performance, reduced installation times, and low environmental impact. Our systems are modular and fully automated, and we adopt the best available technologies to minimise energy consumption and maximise treatment efficiency.
How a biological treatment system works
Decades of research have led to the development of diverse biological wastewater treatment technologies. These systems utilize the metabolic action of specific types of bacteria to degrade organic matter, nitrogen and phosphorus compounds.
Our company adopts both traditional solutions and advanced technologies, depending on specific application requirements.
Activated sludge
The activated sludge process is among the most widely used solutions and can be applied to plants of any size for domestic and industrial wastewater treatment.
Several biological process configurations are available in dedicated reactors, including denitrification, oxidation, and nitrification. These are completed by a final settling stage for the separation and recirculation of activated sludge.
SBR
The SBR process is a specific application of the activated sludge process in which treatment takes place within a single reactor. The various treatment phases, oxidation, denitrification, and sedimentation, occur sequentially.
This technology does not require a separate settling stage.
MBBR: Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor
n MBBR technology, attached growth bacteria develop on special mobile plastic carriers, which increase the available surface area for treatment. This enhances system capacity compared with conventional activated sludge processes for the same reactor volume.
It is a robust and effective technology characterised by low sludge production and reduced energy consumption.

A sedimentation stage is included for sludge separation and possible recirculation (IFAS process).
When integrated with a polishing stage such as filtration, an MBBR system represents an especially attractive solution for wastewater reuse.
We manufacture prefabricated modular systems based on this technology for capacities ranging from 250 to 10,000 population equivalents.
MBR: Membrane Bio Reactor
This technology combines activated sludge biological treatment with membrane filtration. It allows operation with high biomass concentrations within the reactor, ensuring excellent pollutant removal performance.

MBR membranes also retain suspended solids and bacterial loads, producing a very high quality effluent.
Although MBR technology requires higher energy consumption than other solutions, it can reduce the volume of the biological compartment by up to 50 percent compared with conventional activated sludge processes. This makes the treated water suitable for recovery and reuse.
We manufacture modular MBR systems for capacities of up to 1,000 population equivalents.
New technology
UR-TOUC module
Water is life, energy, and the future, but it is also a fragile resource that is too often wasted. We believe that its recovery must be a shared commitment in order to address water shortages caused by climate change.
With modular UR-TOUC systems, based on patented technology, we offer an innovative and sustainable solution for the advanced polishing of urban wastewater, also applicable to industrial wastewater treatment.
By combining MBBR and MBR technologies, UR-TOUC modules deliver high treatment capacity, excellent purification efficiency, and reduced energy consumption, all within compact, high performance systems.
With UR-TOUC, we do more than simply treat water. We help build a more responsible future for today’s and tomorrow’s generations.
We manufacture modular systems based on TOUC technology for capacities of up to 2,000 population equivalents.
